| چکیده | ||
| Religious heritage is a central component of cultural identity, carrying symbols, values, and concepts that shape collective consciousness and creative thought. Throughout history, writers and poets have drawn from this heritage to enrich their literary and poetic discourse. The ways in which religious heritage is employed vary according to the poet’s creativity and objectives, as it can be recontextualized to convey diverse meanings and serve specific artistic or ideological purposes. This study examines the manifestations and significance of religious heritage in The Diwan “The Will of a Palestinian Child” by Mortada Al-Tamimi, using a descriptive–analytical approach. It focuses on how religious symbols, figures, and concepts are employed in the diwan and explores their expressive, semantic, and symbolic dimensions. The analysis shows that Al-Tamimi draws on both Islamic and Christian references, integrating them into his poetry to reinforce the spiritual and sacred aspects of the Palestinian cause. The study also highlights that the poet employs a modern symbolic structure, blending religious and historical intertextuality to create poetic scenes that embody conflict, martyrdom, and divine justice. This approach gives the diwan a multidimensional significance, connecting Palestinian national struggle with universal spiritual and moral values. The research demonstrates that religious heritage is not only a cultural reference but also a .powerful tool for constructing a poetic discourse of resistance and identity. | ||
