| Aim: Diabetes is associated with low-grade inflammation. Controlling inflammatory factors as a therapeutic strategy has attracted much attention. The present study aimed to determine Interactive effect of eight weeks combined training and taurine supplementation on the expression of NLRP3 and IL-1β genes in the liver tissue of male diabetic Wistar rats. Method: In this experimental study, 40 male Wistar rats, 8 weeks old and weighing 233.20 ± 13.89 g, were randomly divided into four groups of 10 healthy controls, diabetic controls, diabetic + taurine, and diabetic exercise + taurine. After induction of type 1 diabetes, the diabetic exercise + taurine groups performed combined training for eight weeks, five days a week. Rats in the diabetic + taurine and diabetic exercise + taurine groups were injected intraperitoneally 100 mg/kg body weight taurine supplement for eight weeks. Real-Time PCR was used to measure the expression of genes. SPSS software version 24 was used to analyze the data. Results: Expression level of NLRP3 gene was significantly decreased in diabetic + taurine and diabetic exercise + taurine groups compared to diabetic control group (P=0.001). Expression level of IL-1β gene was significantly decreased in diabetic + taurine and diabetic exercise + taurine groups compared to diabetic control group (P=0.001). Conclusion: Induction of diabetes increased the expression of NLRP3 and IL-1β genes. Eight weeks of combined exercise and taurine consumption resulted in a decrease in the expression of the above inflammatory genes in the liver tissue of diabetic Rats. | ||
