| The current study attempted to investigate the perceptions of male and female pre-service English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers about using the ENGAGE model in the EFL classes. The participants of the study were 10 male and 10 female pre-service EFL teachers studying at Farhangian University in Ardabil, Iran. They were purposefully recruited based on their familiarity with the concept of the ENGAGE model and its application in their training classes. To collect data, an interview guide was utilized to obtain the perceptions of the participants on employing the ENGAGE model in the EFL classes. The data obtained revealed that not only could EFL learners promote their English but also, they could understand their surrounding world better. In addition, the participants stated that the knowledge or information the EFL students could receive throughout the ENGAGE model class was more than what they had received in ordinary classrooms. Also, the results have useful implications for EFL classes. | ||
